Dr. Kay Stelmach Larkin, VMD
A native of Reading from a family of physicians, Dr. Kay S. Larkin received a BS in biology from Villanova University. She then earned her VMD degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1982. After two years in private practice in southern New Hampshire, she returned to Berks County and has been practicing here since that time. She opened Larkin Veterinary Center in 1997, to pursue her special interest in feline medicine and surgery, while maintaining personalized care for her canine patients in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Other areas of interest of Dr. Larkin are geriatric medicine, endocrinology, oncology, and critical medicine. Dr. Larkin has three children, Jennifer, Thomas and Peter. Jen is pursuing a career in teaching. Tom is an engineer and Pete is involved in the automotive industry. When not caring for your pets, she enjoys horseback riding, photography, traveling, and reading. Dr. Larkin's spare time is often spent on her passion of riding and showing her horse, Theo. Once in a while you may find her kayaking on a Canadian lake. The rest of her family includes her beloved Corgi mix, Houston and a very special Singapura cat named Alfabeto.

Dr. Nancy Nelson, VMD University of Pennsylvania
A Berks County native, Dr. Nelson grew up in Morgantown and received her BS from Ursinus College. She then graduated with a VMD from the University of Pennsylvania in 1987. After practicing in Delaware for three years, she returned to Berks County where Dr. Nelson’s and Dr. Larkin’s paths crossed as they worked in the same animal hospital. Prior to joining Larkin Veterinary Center in 1999, Dr. Nelson pursued private practice in Morgantown, developing her special interest in birds, exotic animals, and wildlife, while continuing to provide quality care for cats and dogs. She is a past president of the Mid Atlantic Association of Avian Veterinarians. Dr. Nelson also enjoys canine and feline medicine and surgery. Dr. Nelson and her husband Mike, also from Berks County, have two children, Christopher and Emily. Her interests include horseback riding, gardening, and spending time with her family and their pets at home.

Dr. Melina Boston, DVM
Dr. Boston was born in Alexandria, Virginia and attended Cornell University where she received her B.S. and then went on to the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. After practicing in Maryland and Colorado, she joined LVC in November of 2007. Her special interests include feline medicine, surgery, and geriatric medicine.
